La Gran Familia (LGF) is an orphanage supported by the Diocesan Church Women of Fort Worth, and the World Mission Committee of the Diocese of Fort Worth that ministers to abandoned and impoverished children who have been living in the hills and on the streets of Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, located southwest of Chihuahua City.  These children, only boys at first, lived in desperate and deplorable conditions.

The mission of LGF is to provide the children with love, a heathy home environment, food, medical services, education, Christian values and principles. However, because of the violence of warring cartels, LGF has asked that we pray for the safety and security of the children and employees.

How can We Help

Each year we have committed to providing a donation of $750 beginning two weeks before and culminating on Mother’s Day, where the funds are then matched. Proceeds will go towards the current needs of 30 children.

Donations are made by writing checks payable to CTKAS with LGF on the memo line, or cash placed in a pew envelope checked Other and LGF written on the line. Either can be placed in the offertory plate or dropped off at the church office. At the end of May the donations are sent to La Gran Familia through our Diocesan office.

More information may be found on the diocesan website at La Gran Familia.
