WestAid is a charity we support that is now celebrating 30 years of serving our community, and is a regional food pantry serving one of the most culturally diverse areas of Southwest Tarrant County.
Open 5 days per week, WestAid serves Zip codes 76107, 76116, 76126 and portions of 76109 and 76008. They provide emergency food services due to a loss of job theft, illness, or any other temporary crisis.
Qualified people may shop in the pantry once every three months, and pick up gap back during the other months. During the holidays, holiday food items will be added to orders.
How Can We Help
Volunteer Your Time
Do you have one morning or afternoon a week that you could help us? We need volunteers for permanent and substitute positions. We are open from 9:30 – 2:30, Monday – Thursday and 9:30 – 12:00 on Fridays. We have two shifts for volunteers: 9:30am – noon, and noon – 2:30pm. We have openings at the reception desk, intake interview desk need and help in the pantry. If you can sub occasionally, the times are arranged ahead of time and you work at your convenience.
If you or anyone you know can spare 2 1/2 hours per week, please call Denise McWilliams at 817-737-9338.
Because of their ability to buy FDA approved surplus at pennies on the dollar, our monetary donations go a long way in feeding individuals and families in need.
Make checks payable to CTKAS with WestAid on the memo line, or cash placed in a pew envelope checked Other and WestAid written on the line. Either can be placed in the offertory plate or dropped off at the church office. Each month, donations are sent directly to WestAid.
We have a food drive twice per year at Lent and Thanksgiving. You may also drop off goods at their location at 7940 Camp Bowie West Fort Worth, TX 76116.
